Due to the fact that APW will be our first raid dungeon, the goal is to provide content that hopefully a wide range of players can enjoy. Our entrance wing is being tuned towards a more casual or less organized raid group. This isnÂ’t to say that weÂ’re going to make it easy - it will require some coordination and time spent, but before those guilds step foot in any of the other wings they may want to spend some time farming the first few bosses.
We have a lot of classes and mechanics that I believe really define Vanguard as a whole and really haven’t been explored to their fullest potential until now. In addition we have integrated Vanguard’s other key elements – Diplomacy, Crafting, the feeling of choice. Each of these will also serve to make our raid game stand out from the rest.

Vanguard: New Quests for Ksaravi Gulch

Everyone is really excited about the arrival of raiding in Vanguard via the Ancient Port Warehouse, but level 50's aren't the only ones getting to have all the fun. There's a lot more in store for Game Update 3, including the beefing up of some areas in Telon that many of you may already be familiar with! Game Update 3 - Phase 1 is bringing a few new and exciting quest lines to the game!

I was part of the group there designed the quests for the Ksaravi Gulch Dungeon. And I implemented the (minor) population changes to the dungeon, and all of the quest, that is, the quest in the dungeon. The changes outside the dungeon were made by Gary Fisher.

It is very involved - we have random Diplomacy parleys you can engage in with gnomish commandos, there's a civic diplomacy set on the dungeon so you can get cool buffs while you are raiding there and IF you can find Professor Odwal and defeat his boss parley you can get an ultra-rare crafting component for a legendary weapon.

I know from reading the posts on the forums that week that so many of you were happy with the smoothness and that all the amazing coders, programmers and production teams took time to make sure as little pain as possible was felt by you guys. Vanguard: Naming Policy

What is in a name? It sets you apart from the rest of the gaming community, giving your character a sense of identity in a world full of sometimes similar models.
I'm sure we can all think of names that teetered on the edge of appropriateness, but still made us chuckle. The naming policy isn't put in place to take fun out of your character, but instead to ensure that the gaming experience is pleasant for as many people as possible.

This beautiful scene was captured early in the morning at Jalen's Crossing as Nokku Nifty rode from Ca'ial Breal to Wailing Wind Asylum. Nokku's pressing matters at the Asylum were put on hold for a brief moment, to enjoy this amazing sight in utter awe!

What can you tell us of the upcoming server merges? Many players have been curious how this will be handled, how houses will be dealt with, and what it will mean for the servers under different rulesets.
The team is working very hard on getting all the necessary code completed and tested to be as painless as possible for the player. As soon as Game Update 2 is Live, the server merges should be following close behind. As for houses, all the resources used in the construction of your house will be returned to you so that you may rebuild the house on the new server once you have purchased a new plot. As far as rulesets, nothing is changing there other than PVP Team is going away and there will only be PVP FFA.

Absolutely, we already have quite a list made up of ideas for upcoming content and are always brainstorming about what we can do to the high end challenging content in Vanguard to make it as exciting and fun as possible. APW is only the first step in many ways.

What Vanguard does have going for it is its sheer size. The world of Telon is massive and diverse. One can explore deserts in the Arabian-themed Qalia, wander the forests and jungles of Asian-inspired Kojan (complete with floating islands in the sky), or traverse the rugged and often mountainous terrain of Thestra, which has a Western European feel. You'll likely never run out of places to discover and interesting things to look at.

Creating Art in Vanguard

Ancient Port Warehouse is probably my baby. I didn't work much with the designers when it came to the actual content, but I was heavily involved with the current design and layout of the dungeon.
